This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you contact us or use our website. We never sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we do not pass your enquiry to third-party buyers, brokers or lead-generation companies.
Who we are
Property Sold Simple is a trading name of Safana Capital Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17137328), registered office 135-143 Union Street, Oldham, OL1 1TE. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration ZC172456.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at hello@propertysoldsimple.co.uk or by post at the address above.
What data we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, phone number.
- Property and enquiry details: the property address, type, tenure, condition, estimated value, your preferred timescale, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- Sale information, if you proceed: information needed to progress and complete a purchase, including identity and anti-money-laundering verification handled through solicitors.
- Technical and usage data: collected by analytics only if you accept analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
How we collect it
Directly from you, when you complete an enquiry or cash-offer form, sign up to our property-deals list, or contact us by phone or email. Technical data is collected through our website with your consent.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Prepare your cash offer and respond to your enquiry | Steps to enter a contract at your request, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries |
| Progress and complete a property purchase | Performance of a contract, and legal obligation (conveyancing, anti-money-laundering, tax) |
| Send you property deals and updates by email and SMS | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Understand and improve our website (analytics) | Your consent (analytics cookies) |
| Keep records and prevent fraud | Legal obligation and legitimate interests |
Who we share it with
We keep your data tightly held. We use a small number of service providers (processors) who act only on our instructions:
- Netlify, which hosts our website and securely stores enquiry submissions.
- Microsoft, whose Outlook / Microsoft 365 service we use to receive and reply to your enquiry, and whose Microsoft Clarity analytics we use (only with your consent).
- Solicitors and conveyancers, only where a sale is proceeding, to complete the legal work.
We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not pass your enquiry to other property buyers, brokers or lead-generation companies.
International transfers
Some of our providers (for example Microsoft) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or addendum, so your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
How long we keep it
If you make an enquiry but a sale does not go ahead, we keep your personal data for up to 12 months from your last contact with us, then delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Where a sale completes, or where the law requires it (for example tax and anti-money-laundering records), we keep the relevant records for as long as we are legally required to.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@propertysoldsimple.co.uk. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
